Terms of Service
Last updated: May 21, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of xCopilot, including xcopilot.io, the Chrome extension, APIs, and related features (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
xCopilot helps you review Gmail mail for potential scams and phishing, apply labels, optionally remove spam according to your settings, and view organization insights. The Service uses automated rules and, where enabled, AI-assisted analysis. It is an assistive tool—not a guarantee that all threats will be detected or that all legitimate mail will be preserved.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) and able to form a binding contract. You must comply with Google's terms when connecting Gmail.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Keep your sign-in method secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Gmail connection
Connecting Gmail requires OAuth consent. You can disconnect at any time. You grant us permission to perform only the actions covered by the scopes shown on the consent screen (for example reading mail, modifying labels, and permanent deletion when you enable spam removal features). You remain responsible for reviewing important messages before deletion.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes;
- Attempt to bypass security, quotas, or access controls;
- Reverse engineer or resell the Service without permission;
- Rely on the Service as your sole security or legal compliance measure.
6. AI and automated decisions
Scam scores, labels, and insights may be incorrect. Always verify sender identity, links, and payment requests independently. You are solely responsible for actions you take on mail (including delete, move, or reply).
7. Plans and limits
Free and paid tiers may apply usage limits (for example AI reviews per month or scan frequency). We may change limits or pricing with notice where required.
8. Intellectual property
We own the Service, branding, and software. You receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Service for personal or internal business use according to these Terms. You retain ownership of your mail content.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR MISSED MESSAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required for security or legal reasons. Sections that by nature should survive will survive termination.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised date on this page. Material changes may require additional notice where legally required.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator of xCopilot is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections apply in your country.
